Xtreme Lashes FAQs

Xtreme Lashes FAQs
What are Xtreme Lashes?
Xtreme Lashes are strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. They are a revolutionary product that lengthens and thickens eyelashes. They are individually applied on a hair-by-hair basis to give you a natural, elegant look and are as weightless as natural eyelashes.

How long do Xtreme Lashes last?
When properly applied, lashes can last up to two months or longer. Natural lashes typically fall out every 45-60 days; therefore refills are required every two to three weeks to maintain a lush and thick look.

Can I swim, shower, or visit a spa with Xtreme Lashes?
Yes, you can! The specially formulated bonding agent allows you to do anything without having to worry. The only time you have to worry about it is the first two days after they’re applied. Do not swim or spa for at least two days to allow adequate bonding time.

Can I apply mascara to Xtreme Lashes?
One of the biggest advantages of Xtreme Lashes is that you will not need to apply mascara. If you feel that you absolutely must have it, then it needs to be only water-based mascara. You can purchase Xtreme Lashes specially-formulated mascara. DO NOT USE OIL-BASED OR WATERPROOF MASCARA. These types of mascaras will weaken the bonding agent and cause the lashes to fall out.

Can I use eyelash curlers with Xtreme Lashes?
You CANNOT use a MECHANICAL EYELASH CURLER, since it will damage the Xtreme Lashes. The lashes are already created with a beautiful curl.

What are semi-permanent eyelash extensions?
These are synthetic extensions made of a polyester material. They are made to look like a natural perfect eyelash, thicker at the base, and thinner at the tip with a slight curl. They come in many different colors, the most popular being solid black. These lashes are thicker than the natural hair, to give the illusion of a much thicker lash line, and they come in different lengths so that we can redesign the eye's shape.

How long do semi-permanent eyelash extensions last?
There has been a lot of misrepresentation regarding this question. The truth is that a natural eyelash has only a two month lifecycle. In order to apply a synthetic eyelash to natural hair, the natural hair has to be half the length of the synthetic hair we are applying, which means this hair could be a couple weeks or more into the natural lifecycle. With this being said, we apply a full set starting at 40+ lashes per eye, in some cases touching them up after one week to help you with learning how to care for your new lashes and give you a chance to get on a few more. I want you to LUV YOUR LASHES! After I have seen how fast your eyelashes grow, I devise a schedule for your refills. You will have the option to keep up your lashes with regular refills for as long as you wish, or let the lashes grow out until the last lash has fallen out.

How often will I need lash refills?
Our clients come in for their refills anywhere from 2 - 4 weeks, with 2 weeks being the average. Refills vary according to clients’ choice of lashes wanted per eye. Generally speaking, if you want to keep your lashes full all the time, we recommend scheduling your refills every 2 - 3 weeks. Once you have waited longer than the 4 weeks or have only half of your lashes left, you may need a new set, which is more expensive.

How safe are semi-permanent eyelash extensions?
The extensions are made from synthetic polyester, which means they are completely safe. We use a medical-grade bonding glue, similar to the Dermabond glue used in surgical procedures. The glue comes in two different strengths to accommodate clients with hypersensitive skin and eyes.

How do I take care of these lashes once they're on?
Semi-permanent eyelash extensions are wonderful because they replace the need for mascara and provide a completely low-maintenance makeup routine. You cannot get the lashes wet for 24 hours after they have been applied. You cannot use any oil-based makeup removers or products on the lashes or around the eyes. And should you decide to use mascara, only a water-based mascara can be used on these eyelashes. The best care for these lashes is to just leave them alone, which is why they are so great! You will revel in the time it saves you in the morning when you pop out of bed looking bright-eyed and as though your mascara and eye makeup are already done.

Why is this service so expensive?
By now, you have heard of many different places offering eyelash extensions. Like so many other things, there are high-quality and low-quality products and services. We are proud to have the best-quality products on the market, Xtreme Lashes, and Linda is a certified advanced lash specialist.

Your first full set is a big investment in your time and money, but you will see that it is worth it. After your first visit, it is just the refill price to keep up your lashes. The first full set can take anywhere from 90 minutes to three hours, depending on the amount of lashes you want. After that, your refills generally take between 30 minutes to an hour each time. We see many clients who come to get their lashes fixed after they've tried someone else, and we are dedicated to making sure you are happy with the set of lashes you receive.
